Effective yesterday, HUD announced FHA loan limit increases on 1-4 unit, owner occupied properties for purchase and refinances. We saw a $40,000 bump here in Washoe County alone on the 1 unit limit. Please keep in mind that these increases were part of the Economic Stimulus Package that was signed by the President in effort to help reinvigorate the housing market which is a key factor in the health of the overall economy. These increases are temporary and ONLY IN EFFECT UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR!
