Short Sale Agent Update
Feb. 27, 2012
Distressed Nevada Homeowners
May Qualify for Transition-Assistance Funds
If your financially distressed Nevada clients can no longer afford their homes and are pursuing a short sale, they may be eligible for financial help with their relocation.
The Nevada Hardest Hit Fund Program includes a Short Sale Acceleration Program, which is intended to help low- to moderate-income homeowners who meet the eligibility criteria.
You can help by advising your distressed clients that they must:
Apply for assistance after short sale approval is received but before they complete the transaction.
Maintain their property until their house is sold or returned to the lender as negotiated.
The Short Sale Acceleration funds are available only once per borrower, but can be combined with other Hardest Hit Fund programs. Qualifying homeowners have no obligation to repay the relocation money.
